*PERSONAL PERSPECTIVES ON VAMPIRISM*
Madame X - The House of the Dreaming
Section 1 : Beliefs and Definitions
Define vampire and vampirism.
A vampire is a creature who feeds from others. In a human connotation
a vampire feeds on other human's life essence, be it sanguine,
energetic, emotional, mental, astral, etc… Vampirism is a practice, a
nature, and/or a fetish involving feeding/drawing/utilizing other
human's life essence.
Elemental draw cannot be considered vampiric in my book, it is magical
craft.
Section 2 : Traits
Do you believe vampires are born, made, or some of each?
Do you believe non-vampires can be turned into vampires?
If you think non-vampires can be turned into vampires how might that be accomplished?
I believe vampires are generally born so, but there are some who are
made and those who become it. I believe that Non-Vampires can become
vampires (be turned…although I don't care for that word). There are
actually several ways an individual can be turned. One way is
sympathetic vampirism where a donor becomes tapped out and develops
the need to feed. Another way is where an individual becomes
irreversibly tapped out, or energetically altered to the point where
they need to feed. Following these lines, there are certain magical
permutations that facilitate such `making'. In addition there are
other rarer occurrences of what can be called walk-ins or crawl-ins by
etheric revenants.
Years back I wrote an article "Transmigration and Transmutation" that
better describes this; it's available for public view at
http://www.houseofthedreaming.org
Section 3 : Sang~Psi~Self-Perception
How do you know you're a vampire, or if you're not, what would make you think someone else was one.
There is a particular aspect I call `innate awareness' that develops
around the time of awakening, if not before. This type of instinctual
knowledge simply tells us who and what we are regardless if we can or
not substantiate it. Vampires need to feed, if an individual does not
`need' to feed, in some way, to reach a certain type of balance, I can
argue that the individual is not a vampire. Vampires utilize the
essence they draw to augment their own, if an individual simply draws
energy without need or usefulness, I can argue they are not a vampire.
Vampires have a type of energy signature which is very different from
the unawakened or even awakened others, some of us have learned to
recognize this…
Section 4 : Spiritual and Social
Do you follow a particular spiritual path and if so what is it?
I consider myself an eclectic spiritualist. Spirituality is very
important to me as it validates who and what I am, my life journey and
is my internal motivation. As such, I find my particular brand of
spiritual truth among many accepted or less accepted religions and
philosophies. I revel in exoteric studies for the more I lean about
the universe the more I learn about myself…and ultimately that is the
greatest challenge.
Although I am baptized and confirmed (and barely escaped a nunnery) I
cannot be considered a catholic. I have studied Judaism and Jewish
mysticism, and Eastern Spiritualities thru Tai-chi and Yoga (not just
from an exercise based perspective). Shamanism (Eastern/Western as
well as North and South American) has always been an interest, as the
many facets of Paganism were always a passion to me. Originally coming
from a ceremonial magic tradition, thru the years I have become more
of a chaos magic practitioner.
I hope this gives you a bit of an insight into who I am, and what I
believe. Meanwhile I am the Matriarch for House of the Dreaming,
which stands for diversity under integrity. I welcome you to peruse
my site as it is perhaps the best reflection of who I am…or at least
of who I try to be.
Please let me know if there is anything further I can do.
I'm very happy to be in this group, as I have enjoyed the site and the
chats very much.
Thank you for having me.
I'm looking forward to participating.
